TECHNIQUE: PUTTING A BORDER ON AN INSIDE CORNER

Some installations may require you to create an inside corner, as in an "L" shaped mat or to work around a corner or other obstacle.   This is easily accomplished by cutting a single piece of straight border to fit into place.  Here's how to do it:

1. Interior corner example Starting with an inside corner without any borders attached, proceed as follows:
2. Install full border pieces Install the straight border tiles on one of the edges.
3. Overlap border tile to be cut Overlap the straight border tile on the other edge over the ones you just installed.
4. Use metal ruler to mark cut location Run a metal ruler along the edge of the installed borders and over the straight edge to be cut. Mark the cut line.
5. Cut the border and snap in place Take the border to be cut to a safe cutting area and, using a standard utility knife, cut along your marked line.  Snap the piece you just cut into place.  It will look like this when you are done.
