The
Wondermat® Sport Series has just undergone a
major change. First and foremost, we are making 2-foot, 1-inch thick tiles
our main STOCKED Sport mat. And to top that, we are changing the non-slip
embossing to our new "Basket Weave" embossing for better traction.
We still supply 1-Meter mats through our
Made-to-Order program.
Our line of thicker Sport and
Safety mats serve a range of activities, and were designed for more strenuous activities like martial arts, gymnastics,
tumbling, kick boxing and Tai-Bo...
These mats may be used anywhere indoors, and can be used
outdoors in shaded or partly sunny areas on a solid subsurface. Water will
not harm them, but exposure to direct sunlight will cause certain colors to fade
and shorten their useful life.
They are not rated for use under tall outdoor playground equipment such as swing
sets, slides and other climbing equipment, but are suitable for low-height
plastic play equipment and ground-level structures. Testing indicates these mats
comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines for a MAXIMUM
fall-height of 3-feet when used as playground fall protection.
As usual, we're going to dance to our own drummer. We are switching our entire stocked Sport Series line to 2-Foot tiles.
We have been quietly testing a new 1-inch thick, 2-foot tile for over a year now and are finding nothing but advantages:
Say goodbye to high shipping charges on 1-Meter sport mats, because this change almost cuts the shipping charges in half. The 2-Foot tile size allows us to eliminate some manufacturing waste too, resulting in a lower square foot cost, and the smaller tile size makes it easier to fit into any size room, reducing waste again.
1-Meter interlocking puzzle mat tiles are great for Martial Arts schools and exhibitions, but most of our customers use these thicker mats around their homes.
1-Meter tiles are still available on a made-to-order basis, with more options than ever before: Pick from 15 colors, 3 surface textures, 3 foam hardness's and 4 thickness options.
THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAT: Some internet mat companies insist on advertising that a 20 Millimeter mat is 7/8 or even 1 inch thick. Our calipers say that 20mm is closer to 3/4 inches. We think that calling a 20mm mat 7/8th inch thick is dishonest. It makes it sound like it's "almost an inch", when in fact it overstates the actual thickness by almost 25%. Because of this situation on the Internet, we strongly suggest that you get samples of any "7/8 Inch" or "1 Inch" thick mats and measure them for yourself. If you order 7/8 or 1 Inch thick mats and what you get is 3/4 Inch thick mats, return them and demand a refund.
